Harrisburg, PA – At present, Governor Tom Wolf introduced the approval of 24 rail freight enchancment initiatives that may improve freight mobility whereas creating or sustaining greater than 340 jobs throughout Pennsylvania. The State Transportation Fee voted to approve $26 million for the next initiatives by the Rail Transportation Help Program (RTAP) and the Rail Freight Help Program (RFAP).

Following is a listing of the 24 authorised rail freight initiatives with the state share:
Allegheny County:

Chester County:
- Cleveland-Cliffs Plate: $1.4 million to rehabilitate yard tracks and turnouts on the Soften Store facility.
Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, and McKean Counties:
- Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad: $2.6 million to rehabilitate roughly 20 miles of observe with new ties and improve radio management switches.
Clinton County:
- Pine Creek Seed Holdings: $1.9 million to assemble roughly a 1,000 foot siding to supply new rail entry; and
- South Avis Realty: $559,000 to rehabilitate yard tracks and lift a piece of observe to enhance transloading.
Erie County:
- IRG Erie: $509,000 to assemble a rail siding to a brand new plastic recycling plant; and
- West Erie Brief Line: $270,000 to rehabilitate roughly 1 mile of observe together with tie alternative and drainage enhancements.
